Getting to the Swiss Alps

Getting to the French Alps
Chambéry (CMF / LFLB), in the Savoie region, is the natural starting point for both the Northern and Southern French Alps because of its excellent proximity to the Three Valleys. Although it is a small airport, there is a dedicated private terminal with catering and limousine service for private jet arrivals. Annecy (NCY / LFLP), Geneva (GVA / LSGG) and Sion (SIR / LSGS) offer further options depending on resort and timing.
From Chambéry:
■ Méribel — approx. 1hr20 drive, or 25 minutes by helicopter
■ Courchevel — approx. 1hr20 drive, or 20 minutes by helicopter

How close can a private jet get to my ski chalet?
Depending on the resort, you can land anywhere from 10 minutes to around two hours’ drive away. St Moritz (via Samedan) and Gstaad (via Saanen) offer some of the shortest road transfers, while resorts in Les 3 Vallées typically use Chambéry or Geneva plus a helicopter or car transfer.
Can I fly directly into Courchevel?
Only specially certified turboprops can use Courchevel’s airport. Most private jets land at Chambéry or Geneva, then connect by helicopter (around 20–30 minutes) or by road (roughly 1.5–2.5 hours) to Courchevel 1850.
