Saturday 6th May will see the historic crowning of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey alongside Queen Camilla as part of an epic three-day celebration across the country. Millions are expected to take part in the festivities, which includes no less than two processions, a religious service, and a fabulous concertr held at Windsor Castle.

Shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend, here are the best ways to celebrate the momentous occasion in London.

See the Royal Processions in Person

On the day of the coronation, two processions will take place between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. The morning will begin with ‘The King’s Procession’, where millions of people are expected to line the streets of London to get a glimpse of the new Monarch. Following the ceremony, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort will be joined by the Royal family and return to Buckingham Palace, concluding the day of official activities with an appearance on the palace’s infamous balcony.

Celebrate at the Big Coronation Lunch

A quintessentially British street party on Sunday 7th May will see people across the country sharing food and drinks to celebrate. As streets line up with bunting and picnic tables across the UK, neighbours and communities have the further opportunity to come together to commemorate this historic event.

Watch the Coronation Concert

On the evening of Sunday 7th May, a special coronation concert will be held and broadcast live at Windsor Castle, seeing global music icons like Take That and Lionel Richie perform in celebration of the historic occasion.

During the concert, famous landmarks around the country are set to be illuminated with projections, lasers, and drones. Although the list of landmarks has yet to be revealed, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and Battersea Power Station are the usual contenders!

Check Out Mayfair’s Secret Garden Party

Mayfair is going big for the coronation, hosting a two-day garden party, which includes screenings of both the King’s coronation ceremony and concert at Windsor Castle.
