Luxury Villas & Northern Lights in Iceland
20 November 2019
We have the perfect recipe for some wonderful Scandinavian Hygge this season.
What better way to really feel alive, cosy and at peace with the world than witnessing one of the world’s most amazing natural phenomenon from your own luxury villa perched on the edge of the spectacular Lake Thingvellir in Iceland? The Northern Lights have made frequent appearances this year, and the season for this spectacular natural display of colour generally stretches to March.
Lakeview and Fishcreek Villas offer you the ultimate privacy, spacious architect designed homes and total luxury.
Both villas offer the ideal hideaway with some of the most dramatic countryside views in Iceland. Lakeview villa has stunning modern decor, flooded with natural light right on the shore of the beautiful Lake Thingvellir .
Whereas Fishcreek Villa is set in 200 hectares of unspoiled countryside, surrounded by mountains. The property is commonly referred to as “a natural pearl”. Iceland’s famous Norðurá salmon river, with its two impressive waterfalls Glanni and Laxfoss, is within easy walking distance of the villa and the views of Baula Mountain, the iconic landmark of west Iceland, picturesque craters and colourful lava fields are close by.
The villa is self-sustainable both in terms of fresh water as well as pure geothermal water originating from wells on the property. The geothermal water is used for baths, showers, hot tub and floor heating throughout.
Located on the shores of Lake Thingvellir, Lakeview Villa offers a private retreat with many hiking trails to explore, and some of Iceland’s most spectacular natural attractions including Gullfoss, the golden waterfall and Geysir, a geothermal area lending its name to all other geysers worldwide.
Fishcreek sleeps 6-12
Lakeview sleeps 8
So why not light some candles and hunker down with a cup of tea and that book you've been meaning to read for months. Or if you're feeling more sociable, cook up a pot of your favourite dish and gather your friends over for a board game night - oh and make sure to look out of the window to check for the Northern Lights.
