Since opening a dedicated Aviation studio in 1999, Winch Design has been successfully reigniting the glamour of flying, by designing and delivering the world’s most beautiful, fully bespoke aircraft. Now, the design team are proud to present a new concept for the refit of a Client’s Global 5000, ‘Project Miami’

Winch were tasked with providing creative design ideas for a young, influential, Instagram-famous owner. Her brief called for a cabin to be seen in; a space for work and play, used to fly from meeting to meeting, or party to party. Equally suitable as a glamourous backdrop for a photoshoot or a calming space for a business meeting in complete privacy away from the camera. The Client encouraged the designers at Winch to create a unique, individual interior, drawing influence from the worlds of art, fashion, music and contemporary culture.

Working closely with the Client, Winch have created a colour palette of muted corals and teals complemented by subtle rose gold accents, inspired by the timeless glamour of Miami Deco. Carefully balanced textures and patterns can be found on every surface, adding depth and richness to a delicate and serene interior. Dusky rose-coloured plaited leather covers the sideledges and debossed geometric patterns run up the sidewall and behind the overhead valance. The table surfaces in the cabin are finished with a unique metal and resin material edged in rose gold.

The head rests of the seats are upholstered in hand-woven lambs’ wool and wrapped in blush pink and cream coloured nubuck with rose-gold plated metalwork and intricate stitching, creating a feeling of light indulgence. The seat shells are decorated with individual layers of dyed nubuck leather, echoing a pattern inspired by an aerial view of the Florida coastline and the colours of South Beach.

This effect on the seats is reflected in the custom-designed silk carpet. Shades of blue transition to creams then pinks to create an abstract artwork beneath your feet.

A geometric design realised in hand-applied straw marquetry decorates the bulkhead to the private suite and the client’s love of fashion and bold imagery is celebrated with an iconic Marilyn Monroe pop-art image inspired by the graffiti murals found in Miami’s Wynwood district.

The unique exterior paint scheme is as equally eye-catching, guaranteeing maximum ramp presence and ensuring that everyone knows that the Owner is in town.
